SB 11

I went to Indiana for my spring break. Downsides of this: a lot of rain and grey skies, ruining 2 pairs of my shoes in mud and puddles, forgetting to take pictures (which isn't really related to being in Indiana). Highlights: Seeing some of my favorite people in the whole world.

God kind of did something in my heart on spring break. I stayed at a friend's house and somehow got locked out one day. I spent that hour on their porch just writing in my NEW journal and watching a cat chase squirrels. I'm not going to share much of what God laid on my heart other than this: God laid desires and passions on my heart during the fall semester and I REALLY need to actually die to myself and chase after those things to glorify Him. End of story.

And now for the 2 pictures I took on break:

(Scott, Kendra, and I at Ivanhoes. yay mini FLI reunion!!)

(Heidi and I!!!! Typical that she's the only person I take a picture with.)

Spring Break 2011. I ended up catching with some of my favorite people in the world. Not even kidding. Some people I haven't really gotten to spend time with in a couple years. It's crazy how you can just pick up where you left off. Side note: Downtown Muncie in the spring at night is one of my new favorite things.

After going to Taylor, I went to UofI to see my best friend and give her a ride home. I got to go to the bible study she leads with her roomie. Oh my gosh. Those roommates. Hilarious. A constant babble of babaes and memoos and such. Pretty sure I can't spell it right. But still. They're great. :)

dream.

mmmmmm.

I used to sketch designs for rooms all the time. Like, all the time. Not only that but full house designs. I LOVED the idea of becoming an architect. I think that whole dream started when I was young. I bought a few floor plan books and just looked over them like crazy. There was also a dream of going to Texas A&M to study architecture. If you know me at all, you know that didn't happen. Currently I'm on college number 4 and studying graphic design. Different.

Today I started sketching again. I haven't sketched much in awhile-a true shame. But today it was like I was breathing again. I drew up a couple floor plan samples for a coffee/book/music/art house. I seriously want to open a place like that. Be Jesus-loving owners and have the local youth group kids work there every so often. Host married couple discount nights, bible studies, art shows, musicians, etc. I want a huge wrap around counter thing where people can sit and just chat.

I love dreaming.

(this picture is from a localish coffee house that i loooove. see the wrap around bar? yeah. awesome.)

Truth Project.

In the videos, Dr Tackett keeps asking these crazy questions. In our most recent lesson-What is Science-he pointed out this scripture.

Psalm 19:1

The heavens declare the glory of God;

the skies proclaim the work of his hands.

Along with it he asked something along the lines of: have you ever been in a meadow in the mountains, completely away from light, and just gazed at the skies and been in awe?

My heart started beating faster as I went back to a memory from this past semester. In early November, a group of us went camping. One group of people left about an hour before the group I was in. Somehow, my group got completely lost and we ended up spending about seven hours in the car together. We thought we were going to run out of gas and all five of us would have to sleep in the car. Thankfully we found a gas station and the campsite just in time. But here's the best part.

At one point we were in the boonies of all boonies and on a road that was beyond sketch. It was PITCH black and there wasn't anything around. Our driver turned off the lights of the car and eventually turned the car off. What happened next was one of the most beautiful moments of my life. I rolled down the window and kind of hung out of the car and just looked up. It was a gorgeous silence with an even more powerful sight. There were more stars visible in the vast sky than I had ever seen in my life. I wanted to start crying and singing praise to God for the wonders he had put in creation for us to see. I mean, I spent the semester in the mountains. Mountains are enough to make someone just be in complete awe of creation. But that night, in the mountains, on a road surrounded by meadows, looking at the sky-I saw God's fingerprint.

Even just thinking about that moment right now, I'm still in awe. I pray someday I can go to a place like that again.

The next morning, we watched the sunrise. If you're ever on the top of a mountain, look behind you when the sun is rising. It's wonderful.

I love memories. :)

Day 30: A picture of someone you miss.

I know this pic was already on my blog...and I got it off Dr. Tackett's blog. But still. I love it. And I miss everyone in this picture. I'm so thankful for the lessons I learned from all of them...the lessons I'm STILL learning from all of them.
Day 29: A picture that can always make you smile.

Day 25: A picture of your favorite day.

Happy 21st Birthday!! :) Maggie and Justin were just walking while Heids made me do crazy things.

I love these two. :) Hello friends on my birthday.

Above are Mike and Eric-two of my "brothers" from my freshman year of college. I love them both so much and am thankful for having them in my life to this day. This pic is from a wedding they were doing music at in CO-where I happened to be. I was a total wedding crasher. I just love this pic of us. :)

Above is from a hike we took early on in the semester at Garden of the Gods. I had SO much fun and it is such a great memory. :)

Once again. I have a few. :)
I love my life...so basically there are MANY favorite days.

Day 24: A Picture of something you wish you could change.

I wish we had gotten closer sooner. :)

At the same time I think God taught us both a lot through the process. :)

Day 23: A picture of your favorite book.

Umm.

I love reading.

Therefore I'm just naming authors or series that I like:

Robin Jones Gunn, Karen Kingsbury, Harry Potter, the Bible...a lot more....

Day 22: A picture of something you wish you were better at.

Photography.

Actually.

I wish I could play an instrument.

Like the piano. Or cello. Maybe even a guitar.

Day 21: Something random.

The only reason I'm putting these up here is because I've never had professional pictures done. Not even senior pictures! My friend Sabs is an aspiring photographer (she's phenomenal) and she joined up with another photographer/makeup artist and her sister who is also a makeup artist and we spent the day just having a blast. My friend Kendel was there too!! A whole bunch of artsy girls hanging out=a happy little artsy heart for Bri. :)
